Vickery will be out of action until the New Year |
England and Gloucester prop Phil Vickery faces another spell on the sidelines after it was revealed he has a fracture around the eye area. Vickery took a knock to the head during last week's 27-17 defeat at home to Wasps in the Zurich Premiership and came off just before half-time.
The injury requires surgery and Vickery will be out for up to six weeks.
The 28-year-old forward only returned to action last month after six months out with a back injury.
Vickery made a couple of replacement appearances against Harlequins and Worcester in October, before starting the last four games.
