Worcester won the crucial bottom-of-the-table battle at Franklin's Gardens to consign Northampton to their eighth straight league defeat. Winger Giscard Pieters scored the game's only try, for Worcester, after 29 minutes.
Northampton again failed to cross the tryline and their points came from the boot of fly-half Paul Grayson.
The win puts Worcester within a point of Northampton and Harlequins at the bottom of the Zurich Premiership table.
