Harlequins picked up the fastest bonus point in Zurich Premiership history as they routed Saracens at the Stoop. Quins rattled over four tries in the opening 14 minutes and added another before half-time, with Nick Easter claiming two of them.
Taine Randell finally got Saracens off the mark with a 54th-minute try and Paul Bailey added another at the death.
But Mark Bartholomeusz missed both conversions and Harlequins picked up their first win of the season.
Quins boss Mark Evans was relieved with victory after nine defeats and a draw so far in this campaign.
"In the last five weeks we have played pretty well against some high quality opposition and have just come out on the wrong side of the ledger," he said.
"We kept saying to each other, and I think we believed it, 'We've just got to keep playing and time will tell'."
In contrast, Saracens director of rugby Rod Kafer said he was not surprised club boss Nigel Wray had walked out after Quins scored their fifth try.
"That is an action that I fully understand," said Kafer.
"From my point of view, that is to be expected if we put on a performance as dire as that. It is absolutely unacceptable," he added.
