Samo is keen to play for Jones |
ACT Brumbies lock Radike Samo told his native Fiji that he intends to pursue an international career with Australia. Samo was named in Australia's squad for next month's two Tests with Scotland, three days after he was picked for Fiji's squad to play Tonga.
Samo, who qualifies for Australia by residency, told the Fiji Times: "I've always wanted to be a Wallaby. To make it into the team is a big thing for me.
"So I am definitely going for the Wallaby jumper and that's that."
The Fijians were relying on a clause inserted into the 27-year-old Nadi-born star's Australian Rugby Union contract last year that made him available for Fiji.
Samo is understoood by English Premiership side Newcastle to be joining them next season on a two-year deal, but this would scupper his Wallaby chances as the Australian Rugby Union rules against selecting overseas-based players.
