Poulos has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament |
London Irish are reeling from serious injuries to four senior players. Samoan Peter Poulos could be out for the season with a knee injury, while Paul Sackey, Darren Edwards and Adrian Flavin are all out for over a month.
Back-row forward Poulos has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and will be sidelined for up to nine months.
"The loss of four talented members of the senior squad is a setback," said an Irish spokesman. "We wish them a speedy and successful recovery."
Wing Sackey will be out for up to six weeks after rupturing ankle ligaments in a club training session.
Scrum-half Edwards is suffering from a fractured cheekbone sustained against Saracens two days ago. He will see a specialist later this week to determine whether surgery is required.
Hooker Flavin has a prolapsed disc in his neck, and is due to see a consultant neurosurgeon during the next few days.
He is likely to have a pain-killing injection to settle his symptoms but he will not play again for at least six weeks.
