Rob Howley will undergo wrist surgery in the off-season |
Wasps star Rob Howley will undergo surgery this summer to try and rectify a wrist injury. The former Wales and Lions scrum-half has missed several contact training sessions because of the problem.
But it will not prevent Howley playing in Wasps' first Heineken Cup final or the Zurich Premiership play-offs.
"The injury has hampered me and it's frustrating that my (right) wrist requires surgery, but it is something that needs to be done," said Howley.
"As a professional sportsman and scrum-half, my hands and wrists are a vital part of my job. If they are not right, then I am not doing my job."
The former Wales skipper has proved a key figure behind Wasps' push for Heineken Cup and Zurich Premiership honours.
