Wasps booked a second Twickenham date in successive weekends after crushing Northampton to secure a Zurich Premiership final against Bath.

The champions, who face Toulouse in the Heineken Cup final next Sunday, had too much power and pace for the Saints.

Three tries before half-time from Tom Voyce, Lawrence Dallaglio and Ayoola Erinle gave Wasps a 22-6 interval lead.

Five more followed in the second half, with Voyce and Dallaglio both grabbing a second each, to cement victory.

Northampton, beaten by Wasps at the same stage last year, started well and led 6-0 through two Reihana penalties after 10 minutes.

Wasps, who had lost their last two league games, were tentative by comparison and were grateful for an Alex King penalty to get them on the board.

But after King had missed a further shot at goal and Paul Grayson hooked an attempted drop goal wide, Wasps cranked up the pressure.

In the 10 minutes before the interval they scored three tries, sparked by a brilliant solo score from Voyce.

The wing, picking the ball up on halfway, stepped inside the first defender, outside Reihana and through Ben Cohen's tackle to dot down in the left corner.

Seven minutes later it was the heavy mob that did the damage, Dallaglio running round the front of a lineout and driving over with Simon Shaw at his side.

With Mark van Gisbergen, taking over the kicking duties from King, converting both, Northampton were already 15-6 adrift.

But Wasps turned the screw with a superb third try, backs and forwards combining before Shaw drew two defenders and fed Erinle - on as a replacement for Fraser Waters - who beat Reihana to score.

Saints tried to rally on the resumption, enjoying 10 minutes of concerted pressure.

But when Stuart Abbott intercepted Mark Robinson's pass and raced 80 metres for the fourth after 53 minutes, the game was all but up.

Northampton did fashion a marvellous try for the ever-willing Andrew Blowers, but Wasps reasserted themselves with Paul Volley twisting over after Josh Lewsey's cross-field counter.

Voyce cantered over for his second and prop Tim Payne was driven for the seventh as Wasps rammed home their superiority.

Nick Beal, on his last game for the Saints, grabbed a late try, but it was precious little consolation.
