Vyvyan could also boost Sarries' line-out |
Newcastle Falcons captain Hugh Vyvyan has agreed to join Saracens for the start of the 2004/05 season. The 27-year-old England A player is the third high-profile forward to join the club in the last two weeks, after Alex Sanderson and Iain Fullarton.
Saracens head coach Rod Kafer said: "Not only is Hugh an excellent player and leader, he can play in a number of positions and gives us versatility.
"Hugh shares our vision of Saracens being a successful club."
Kafer is keen to build strength in depth as he tries to move the club forward.
He said: "We are looking to recruit English-based players who are on the edge of the international scene and Hugh, Alex and Iain all fit within that category. "
