Sale have completed the signing of American fly-half Mike Hercus. The 24-year-old was one of the stars of last year's World Cup and his place-kicking was one of the most consistent in the tournament. Sale coach Jim Mallinder said: "Mike is a very valuable addition to our squad and I am sure he will make an important contribution." Hercus is not available to play in the group stages of Sale's Heineken Cup campaign.
