A second-half burst by Saracens condemned Leeds to their ninth Zurich Premiership defeat of the season.

Raphael Ibanez and Thomas Castaignede scored a try each and Saracens were also awarded a penalty try.

Castaignede also kicked 12 points and Robbie Kydd added a conversion, while Gordon Ross kicked a penalty for Leeds.

Over 9,000 fans were at Vicarage Road to see Saracens move to within two points of Leeds in the table.

The opening 40 minutes was a stop-start affair, with Leeds in particular making numerous handling errors.

Saracens went in 6-3 up at half-time - Castaignede outscoring Ross by two penalties to one.

Saracens came to life in the 53rd minute when from a five-metre scrum, they were awarded a penalty try after Leeds scrum-half Ryan Walker tried to kick the ball away before it had come out into open play.

And in the 69th minute Castaignede darted over for Saracens' second try and Kydd added the conversion.

In the final minute the home side made the points safe with an Ibanez try converted by Castaignede.
