Catt has been hampered by injury this season |
Bath centre Mike Catt has admitted he is considering leaving the club if the West country giants are relegated from the Zurich Premiership.
Bath are 10th, just a point off the relegation place, with two games left to play.
Catt said: "I will admit I have been left thinking what am I going to do next season and where am I going to be."
The 30-year-old will miss Bath's Parker Pen Challenge Cup match against Saracens on Saturday because of injury but is hoping to be fit for the vital Premiership game against bottom club Bristol on 4 May.
"I'm very alarmed about the club's predicament," said Catt, who is one of Bath's longest serving players.
"I don't think a lot of people realise what relegation means, especially the younger guys at the club.
My ultimate aim is to play for England again and get on tour |
"We need to start producing the goods and play with some consistency. It is time we started doing something right and performed over the next couple of games.
"I don't want to be a part of the team that gets Bath relegated. I don't want that hanging over my head."
Catt has won over 50 caps for England but injury meant he missed out as England beat the three southern hemisphere giants in the autumn internationals before winning the Six Nations Grand Slam.
He is determined to force his way into coach Clive Woodward's World Cup plans and is desperate to take part in England's matches this summer.
Injury frustration
"It is massively important for me to get two or three games under my belt," he said.
"I don't know what Clive is thinking about me because I haven't talked to him, but it is my aspiration to play in the internationals.
"The injury problems have been very frustrating, especially because of what England have achieved this season. I have missed out on that and it hurts.
"I have been very unlucky with injuries but I know I can get over it because it has been muscular problems. My ultimate aim is to play for England again and get on tour."
