Leeds 23-22 HarlequinsBraam van Straaten showed Leeds what they will be missing next season as he kicked an 84th minute conversion to snatch a last-gasp victory over Harlequins at Headingley.
Van Straaten kicked 13 points |
The Tykes seemed to be heading for defeat after an inspired kicking display from Paul Burke had pushed Quins into a six-point lead. But Diego Albanese ghosted through for a try three minutes into injury time and Van Straaten, who is leaving for Sale Sharks at the end of the season, coolly slotted over the conversion.
Leeds took an early lead after an exchange of penalties in the first 10 minutes, with Van Straaten on target twice either side of an effort from Burke.
And the Tykes consolidated their advantage when Albanese fed Dan Hyde, who released Alan Dickens down the left flank.
The Tykes scrum-half raced upfield before drawing the last line of a ragged Quins defence and slipping the scoring pass to Chris Hall.

Quins responded with a 50-metre penalty from Burke, and a brilliant individual try from England's Dan Luger a minute after the break put them back in the game.
Luger carved his way through the middle of the Leeds defence to cross near the posts and Burke's conversion levelled the score.
Van Straaten missed a long-range penalty chance moments later, and a spell of pressure from Quins forced a penalty which Burke converted.
Leeds were dealt a further blow in the 59th minute when centre Dan Scarbrough was carried off with what appeared to be a knee injury.
Burke struck again for Quins with a drop goal and they seemed set for a rare away win when Luger made a try-saving tackle on Winston Stanley.
But as the seconds ticked away Leeds created a large overlap on the right for Albanese to cross and Van Straaten made no mistake with the extras.
