 Prop Ceri Jones will join Harlequins until the end of the season |
Harlequins have signed Newport prop Ceri Jones on loan until the end of the season. Quins were dealt an injury blow during training on Wednesday, when prop Bruce Starr suffered a fractured elbow.
He is expected to be sidelined for between six and eight weeks, while the Zurich Premiership side are already without England front-row forward Jason Leonard due to hamstring trouble.
Newport, who face Caerphilly in the Welsh Premiership on Saturday, have the likes of internationals Rod Snow, Chris Anthony and Adrian Garvey ahead of Jones in the prop pecking order.
The 25-year-old will link up with a Quins squad currently six points off the Zurich Premiership basement, although they have a game in hand on three of the four sides currently below them.
The Londoners face a tricky, bottom-of-the-table clash away to Bristol on Sunday, with the West Country side just three points behind Quins.
