Foley commits to Bath
News image
Bath coach Michael Foley has signed a new contract which takes him through to the end of next season.

The former Wallabies hooker took over from Jon Callard last March.

He is part of an all-Australian coaching team at the Recreation Ground, working alongside Brian Smith and Richard Graham.

And although Bath have won only three Premiership games in 10 starts this term, his immediate future has now been secured.

Bath rugby director Jack Rowell said: "Since taking over the reins, Mike has been at the forefront of the drive to re-establish Bath as a leading force in the Zurich Premiership.

Integral part

"He is highly-committed, hard-working and hands-on, and we must all look forward to seeing the fruits of the coaching team's exceptional endeavour."

Bath skipper Danny Grewcock added: "We have a fantastic coaching set-up here, and Mike is an integral part of that team.

"I am delighted that he has pledged his commitment to both the club and the players."

Bath have won their last two league fixtures, beating Sale Sharks and Newcastle.

Victory over west country rivals Bristol Shoguns next Sunday would lift them further towards mid-table security.

  • Harlequins wing Ben Gollings is to appear before a disciplinary hearing of governing body the RFU on 21 November.

He was cited for an alleged dangerous tackle in the game with Saracens on 10 November.
