Galasso keen on Bath move
Bath coach Michael Foley
Michael Foley is looking to turnaround Bath's fortunes
French prop Alessio Galasso looks like being the next player to cross the Channel, with a move to Premiership side Bath on the cards.

The 28-year-old French international has told his current club Montferrand that he is keen on a move to the Recreation Ground this summer.

Galasso, who has two international caps, looks like joining Australian lock Mark Connors - who has signed from Queensland Reds - at Bath as coach Michael Foley continues to rebuild.

"Galasso has told us he wants to go and play in the Zurich Premiership with Bath next season," said a Montferrand spokesman.

"He still has some time left on his contract here but, if it's what he wants, nobody here will make it difficult for him to go to Bath."

Rowell rumours

The club were close to dropping out of the Premiership last season, eventually finishing one place above the drop.

Foley, who took over from Jon Callard midway through the season, is keen to strengthen his front row before the start of the next campaign.

Bath are also said to be close to appointing a director of rugby with former Bath and England coach Jack Rowell the favourite for the post.

Rowell's contract at Bristol expired after Saturday's Zurich Championship final defeat at the hands of Gloucester at Twickenham.
