![]() | Friday, 3 May, 2002, 11:40 GMT 12:40 UK Worcester announce reshuffle ![]() Worcester pushed Rotherham hard for the league title Chris Laidlaw is Worcester's new chief executive, following in the footsteps of former England manager Geoff Cooke. They also have a new director of rugby in current head coach John Brain. Laidlaw, the club's finance director, stepped up to chief executive after Cooke decided to take charge of First Division Rugby Limited, which represents National League One clubs. Worcester chairman Cecil Duckworth praised the outgoing Cooke. "Geoff has made a major contribution to the progress of professional rugby and our commercial business," said Duckworth.
Duckworth also confirmed the promotion of Brain, who will continue in his head coach role alongside Andy Keast and Peter Finch. On Friday, the trio made their third signing in the last two weeks, securing London Irish winger Nnamdi Ezulike on a two-year deal. England A back Ezulike joins South African scrum half Werner Swanepoel and Australian forward Mark Gabey at Worcester. "This is an exciting signing for us. Nnamdi's pace and proven finishing ability will enhance our push for promotion next season," said Keast.
