Nikki Walker scored a try for Borders

Glasgow's Tommy Hayes' first attempt was wide, but he broke the deadlock with an angled long-range penalty, then added another.

But the Borders grabbed the momentum before the break with two tries.

Centre Kevin Utterson claimed the first, powering through a challenge by Stuart Moffat after a sniping surge by Armstrong.

Then Nikki Walker scooped up a spilled pass by Alan Bulloch deep inside his own half.

He was half-stopped by Calvin Howarth five metres from the target but had enough strength to heave himself to the line.

The conversion was from the widest possible angle, but Utterson made it look simple.

Glasgow responded positively to claw back three of them thanks to another well-judged penalty by Hayes.

Despite the absence of the inspirational Armstrong, Borders made the perfect start to the second half as Sititi bounded over for their third touchdown.

Utterson was injured in the sequence, so Vili took over the boot duties to add the extra two points.

Even better was to come for the home fans two minutes later when wing Scott Paterson cruised over to secure the bonus point.

Utterson returned to the action to land the conversion from wide on the left and seal Glasgow's fate.

Hayes clipped over another penalty, but they could not turn the tide.
