Two-try Alan Bulloch led the charge, his second score making sure of a precious bonus point. Glasgow made the perfect start as they surged ahead after just two minutes with a touchdown from Glenn Metcalfe. Craig Warlow replied with a penalty but the Scots increased their lead in the 13th minute thanks to an angled penalty by Tommy Hayes. Warlow was off the mark with another penalty bid, only to see Tommy Hayes confidently thump over two at the other end. Bridgend couldn't live with the Pool B table-toppers and made life worse for themselves by handing the home side a second try.
Warlow rediscovered his range to claw back three points after the home back line strayed offside. But Hayes repaired the damage immediately after the restart with another superb strike from 40 metres. The Ravens suffered another blow two minutes later when hooker Gareth Williams was yellow-carded for an off-the-ball incident. Glasgow stepped up the pressure and claimed a deserved third try as Gordon Simpson burrowed across under the crossbar. New Scotland squad member Calvin Howarth then capped a great night's work by setting up Bulloch for the touchdown which ensured the bonus. Hayes kept his 100% conversion record after substitute scrum-half Graeme Beveridge grabbed try number five. Williams returned to the fray to claim a late consolation score for Bridgend.
