Sanderson stood down as Worcester skipper at the start of the season |
Worcester's Pat Sanderson could miss the rest of the season after suffering a suspected dislocated shoulder in Sunday's 44-15 win at Bristol. The former Worcester and England skipper was due to undergo a scan on Monday after he appeared to aggravate an old shoulder injury. "It looks serious," said coach Richard Hill. "It's a previous injury that he's had operated on before. "If it does need operating, it would mean a six-month lay-off." Sanderson was replaced by James Collins when he suffered the injury in the second half at the Memorial Stadium. "It looks like he has dislocated his shoulder," said Hill. "He felt something go, which was a recurrence of that old injury." Sanderson, who handed over the captaincy to Chris Pennell in the summer, missed the first four months of the season with rib and shoulder injuries.
