Bristol held off a spirited Melrose fightback to secure their place in the British and Irish Cup quarter-finals. Poor defence from the hosts let in Anthony Elliott and Dan Montagu, Ed Barnes converting both scores. Graeme Dodds crossed to bring Melrose back in it only for George Watkins to re-establish Bristol's lead. John Dalziel and Callum Anderson went over to make it 19-22 before Wayne Thompson and Dodds exchanged late tries to give both sides a bonus point.
