Reading Ladies RFC recently celebrated their 20th anniversary
Reading Ladies Rugby Club are enjoying life in the South West Championship after their impressive start to the season, says skipper Rhian Evans.
They were promoted to the South West Championship at the end of last season and are currently fifth in the league.
Evans told BBC Radio Berkshire: "It's fantastic. We've started positively and have beaten some good teams.
"It's been exciting to meet that challenge of playing against better teams and improve our game play."
Evans said they had adapted to the standards of the Championship since losing 42-5 to Oakmeadians on the opening day of the season.
"It's more competitive. It's difficult because the tackles are harder and players are better. But it's important that we work hard for each other and continue to enjoy winning as a team," she said.
Reading's next match is at home to London Welsh this weekend and Evans says it will not be an easy fixture.
"They're a good side. It'll be a big challenge because they've been playing strongly as a team," she said.
"But we've got two games in hand against the other teams in the league and are sitting fifth so if we can get good results for next two games we should be up to third."
