Bristol second row forward Ben Glynn has represented England at U18 level |
Bristol will be without young lock Ben Glynn for the next six months after he tore his knee ligaments in the 38-20 defeat to Worcester on Friday. The 19-year-old, who has featured in all of Bristol's games this season, went off in the first half at Sixways. But Dan Montagu, who also had to leave the field with a damaged shoulder, may be back inside a month. "It's not as bad as we initially thought, though he won't be available this weekend," said coach Paul Hull. "With any injury you always fear the worst but thankfully it looks like it will only be two to three weeks which is really good news. "But losing Ben Glynn is a big blow for us and a big blow for him," Hull told BBC Radio Bristol. "He's a promising player who I believe would have played for England Under-20s this season." Bristol are currently 10th in the Championship with just one win and one draw from their opening seven league matches. They face fourth-placed Nottingham on Sunday at the Memorial Stadium before a difficult trip to London Welsh the following week. Ironically, Glynn was not the only player to suffer a knee ligament injury in Friday's game, Worcester flanker Jake Abbott having also been ruled out for six months.
