Cipriani excited by Super 15 opportunity

Former Wasps fly-half Danny Cipriani has been keeping fit with Championship football side QPR ahead of his move to Melbourne Rebels in Australia.

Cipriani is preparing for his debut season in the Super 15, with the new season starting in February 2011.

The 22-year-old has impressed QPR manager Neil Warnock but there is no suggestion he will turn professional.

"He is training hard, is a lovely lad and has a good left foot on him," Warnock told BBC Sport.

"He has been keeping fit and we might play him in a reserve game.

"He played in a practice match the other day and he has been training well to boost his fitness."

Cipriani, who spent a spell training with Tottenham in July and played a reserve-team match at left-back, is due to join up with Melbourne for pre-season training in October.

His decision to join the Rebels all but ended his hopes of playing in the 2011 World Cup with England manager Martin Johnson having previously said he would not select Cipriani if he was unavailable to play in next year's Six Nations.

Cipriani, who has won seven international caps, has been out of favour for most of Johnson's reign.
