Cambridge skipper Darren Fox, along with back row partners Tom Powell and Danny Legge, have been selected for the England Counties squad. The trio have been called up as part of the squad to play France and Ireland in the spring. Cambridge director of rugby James Shanahan told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "It's probably long overdue as we've been playing some good rugby. "Hopefully more players will go on to represent England Counties." England Counties is the international team open to players who ply their trade below Premiership level. Fox was also selected last season and Powell is a member of the England Sevens squad. Shanahan says Cambridge forwards coach Bob Crooks can take much of the credit for the call-ups. "Bob has worked really hard with the forwards since he came in and has improved those guys immensely," he added. "They've fitted into our style of play and have done really well, and definitely Bob has been a big influence in that."
