Late tries from debutant Luke Watson and Daniel Browne helped Bath beat the Ospreys in the LV= Cup.

South African Watson grabbed the opening try driving over from a scrum, but Ryan Davis could not convert in the blustery conditions at The Rec.

Justin Tipuric replied with an unconverted try after Barry Davies and Gareth Owen had both kicked penalties.

But Browne sealed Bath's first win for two months, with Davis converting to add to his three penalties.

Bath coach Steve Meehan told BBC Radio Bristol:

"It could be the launching of a few youngsters into the first team squad and it could be a starting point for us for the remainder of the season.

"We're obviously happy to win at home for the first time this season, we've had some near misses.

"I'm sure we'll see a little bit of a change in people's attitudes and approach at the beginning of next week."

Ospreys back rower Jerry Collins: "We needed to manage our mistakes in the second half, but the scrum didn't go well and we kept giving away penalty after penalty.

"That brought them back into the game.

"We had a pretty good dig at the end and we threw caution to the wind and the boys never tried to stop playing rugby.

"But the conditions and the referee's interpretations and mistakes has played a big part for us."
