Usasz signed a new two year contract with Nottingham in April |
Nottingham scrum-half Tim Usasz says he had a great experience this summer with the United States squad. Usasz made the step up to become a full international under head coach Eddie O'Sullivan after representing USA 'A'. The 26-year-old said: "It was a great experience and I had a great seven weeks over in America with the squad." Usasz has faced impressive opposition over the last few weeks, including Six Nations Grand Slam winners Ireland, Wales and the England Saxons. "It was everything that you expect from playing at that level really, it's tough but enjoyable at the same time," Usasz added. | Being at Nottingham was what got me to the USA squad, so I'm trying to make whatever contribution I can at the moment |
The USA had a difficult summer though, losing their two-legged World Cup qualifier with Canada. Usasz continued: "Obviously it was disappointing that we didn't beat Canada in that second game, but I think we did a lot of good stuff while we were together. "I'm looking forward to maybe playing again with the USA in the future." He is now back in pre-season training with Nottingham and is enjoying being back. He said: "It's good to be back training in Nottingham. I'm just trying to fit back in with all of the boys at the moment. "Being at Nottingham was what got me to the USA squad, so I'm trying to make whatever contribution I can."
