Centre Jamie Roberts terrorised the Springbok backs in Durban |
The British and Irish Lions have been warned that South Africa will be much improved in the second Test at Loftus Versfeld, Pretoria on Saturday. "We didn't play that well in Durban [the Springboks won the first Test 26-21] so they will ensure they go up a level," said backs coach Dick Muir. "We want the forwards to get right in there early on and control the game, we want it to be physical. "And all the backs will be better for having played last weekend." Four South Africa backs were making their returns last week after missing the end of the Super 14 with injuries. | 606: DEBATE |
Centres Jean de Villiers and Adrian Jacobs were given a torrid time by Brian O'Driscoll and Jamie Roberts, and Muir was forced to deny that Jacobs was still carrying an injury. "Adi is certainly not injured. He had a shoulder injury in the Super 14 and he had rehab, which he came through fine," Muir said.
