It's fantastic for Ireland to deliver at the very last moment, unbelievably fantastic - it's tears in the eyes time. Ireland deserved it because they delivered in every game. Brian O'Driscoll has changed the course of Irish rugby in the past 10 years since he joined the squad. In his period as captain Ireland have won three Triple Crowns and when we hadn't won anything since 1985 it gave something to latch onto. To deliver like he did, to score in four of the five matches, he gave leadership when it mattered - if ever a man deserved success, O'Driscoll does. He deserves every plaudit he gets and it's been a pleasure to watch the guy deliver, but it's really all about the team. It is just a great day. I feel unbelievably proud the team lived up to its potential and delivered on the big day. The big guns all delivered.
That's what Ronan O'Gara is there for, to win it for the forwards, to step up and knock the drop-goal over. Ireland could have won by more if they had kept going after they scored their two tries. Wales will wonder should Gavin Henson have been asked to kick the penalty at the end, but the best team won. But when you think of all the great players Ireland have had, it is fitting for this side to win a Grand Slam. Brian O'Driscoll has been the stand out player of this Six Nations. He scores tries and offers leadership but it's what he does when he hasn't got the ball in his hands, the tackles, the turnovers, that make him so outstanding. He's lifted them when they've been dead on their feet. The most relieved man in the stadium was Paddy Wallace. To give away that penalty near halfway was a silly piece of play. He must be the happiest man in the Irish camp this evening.
