Key still looking for improvement

Leeds Carnegie director of rugby Andy Key has challenged his side to keep improving this season.

Carnegie stretched their lead at the top of National League One to 13 points with a 28-3 victory over Rotherham.

Key told BBC Radio Leeds: "We achieved our objectives but our performance wasn't as on the money as we'd like it to be.

"I think you've got to give credit to Rotherham - they weren't afraid to have a go at us on and proved that."

"Some of our clinical finishing - not just finishing tries off, but our execution of some of the things we needed to do in the game - wasn't as good as it needed to be and as result it got a little scrappy.

With second-placed Exeter's game at Moseley postponed because of a frozen pitch, Carnegie opened up a 13-point gap at the top of the table.

"For us to see that there's a 13-point difference now between ourselves and Exeter is refreshing and pleasing for us," Key said.

"They've got to go and win that game - we've got our points on the board, and that psychologically can at times be a difficult thing to swallow."
