Ex-Bridgend schoolboy Matt Crockett will take on Oliver (above)

A former Bridgend schoolboy will go head to head with ex-New Zealand All Black hooker Anton Oliver at Thursday's Nomura Varsity Match at Twickenham.

Ex-Brynteg Comprehensive schoolboy Matt Crockett, 26, will pack down for Cambridge University against Oliver's Oxford in the annual clash.

Crockett is joined by fellow Welshmen James Wellwood on the wing and flanker Will Jones in the starting line-up.

Oxford will be led by ex-Wales Under 21 flanker Peter Clarke.

Rhidian McGuire, a product of Ysgol Gyfun y Strade is on Cambridge's bench as scrum-half cover.

McGuire has played for Wales Under 18 and Sevens, Wellwood for Wales Sevens and ex-Ebbw Vale forward Jones for Wales U21s.
