Back calls for more Leeds support

Neil Back
Back's Leeds have amassed 351 points in just eight games

Head coach Neil Back has called on West Yorkshire's rugby fans to get behind Leeds Carnegie's promotion charge.

Leeds have won all eight of their National One games this season, with their latest win coming over Coventry in front of 2,972 fans at Headingley.

"We want bigger crowds obviously," Back told BBC Radio Leeds.

"The team are playing fantastically well so far and I think they deserve to be better supported than they are at the moment."

Leeds top National League One by five points, confirming their positions are promotion favourites.

Back added: "Hopefully if we keep winning those bigger crowds will come.

"We are very grateful to the 2,500 regular fans that turn up at Headingley, but we need to build that going forward.

"The guys are working very hard and deserve more from the Leeds area."
