Vasey scored nine points including a 45-yard drop goal |
Moseley suffered their second successive defeat in National One despite an improved performance against in-form Nottingham at Billesley Common. Moseley began well and led 14-8 at half time after a Henry Trinder try and nine points from fly-half Richard Vasey. Further scores from Charlie Sharples and James Rodwell kept the home side in front and victory looked assured. But Nottingham fly-half Tim Taylor gave the visitors the win by converting his own try in the dying minutes. Nottingham's other points came from tries by centre Alex Dodge and winger Rohann Nirmalendran with Taylor converting three penalties. Moseley picked up one losing bonus point and are eighth in the table. They will be anxious not to lose any more ground over the next couple of weeks with two trips to the West Country to meet sides currently just below them in Plymouth and Cornish Pirates. Nottingham, who have won their last six matches, are fourth in the league with 28 points and face Newbury at Meadow Lane on Sunday.
