Saracens rounded off a good weekend for English clubs in the European Challenge Cup by thrashing Mont de Marsan 53-3.

Noah Cato opened the scoring in the first minute, with other tries by Neil de Kock, Chris Wyles, Andy Saull, Ben Skirving and two penalty tries.

Bristol's loss to Montpellier was the only English failure in the first round of games, with London Irish, Newcastle, Northampton and Worcester all winning.

Overmach Parma beat Brive 34-29 and Bourgoin saw off Bucuresti 21-10.
