Guernsey Rugby Academy's under-13 and under-14 squads have learned some valuable lessons from the professional coaches at Leicester Tigers. The youngsters spent a weekend in the UK and had a coaching clinic with the Premiership runners-up. "It was a fantastic weekend and the boys thoroughly enjoyed it," said U13s head coach Tony Mancini. "They learned some really useful skills." They then put their skills into action, beating the host's Forest team 30-25. The game was a bonus for the squad, who only get four or five games a year as they are the island's only junior club. "As the only youth rugby club in the island, we face a constant challenge to try and arrange enough competitive fixtures to the keep the players interested in the sport and help them develop to the best of their potential," added Mancini.
