Hynes will make his debut for Australia against Ireland |
Australia coach Robbie Deans will hand Luke Burgess and Peter Hynes their Test debuts against Ireland on Sunday. Scrum-half Burgess is chosen ahead of veteran Sam Cordingley, while Hynes will play on the wing. Ryan Cross and Dean Mumm could also make their Wallabies debuts after being named as replacements. "When we selected our squad we saw all the players as being ready, and our selection of four new caps follows that philosophy through," Deans said. "We've been impressed with the attitude and the enthusiasm that all of the players have brought into camp. It wasn't an easy side to pick." Veteran Stirling Mortlock will continue to captain the team, but is only one of 10 players that remains from the team that lost to England in last year's World Cup quarter-final. | 606: DEBATE | Cameron Shepherd will start at full-back and Queensland hooker Stephen Moore has been paired in the front row alongside New South Wales props Benn Robinson and Matt Dunning. James Horwill, 22, will partner Nathan Sharpe in the second row as he continues his rapid rise. "Saturday night is the starting point for us as a group," added Deans. "It is an opportunity we're all looking forward to. "As they showed last weekend in Wellington (against New Zealand), the Irish can be a difficult opponent to play, and they have historically troubled Australia. "They're an experienced unit, with some world class players in the likes of Brian O'Driscoll and Paul O'Connell, who are up there with the best individuals in the game."
