Malvern back-row forward Ollie Jones has been called into the North Midlands starting line-up for their County Championship match with Northumberland. Jones was originally among the replacements for the long trip to Tynedale, but steps up after Moseley's Mark Evans withdrew through injury. Evans has failed to recover from the knee injury that he sustained in last week's win over Cumbria at Stourbridge. Luctonians' Paul Hulland will take Jones' spot on the bench. Meanwhile, Malvern captain Ryan Watkins has been named the club's player of the year. Director of rugby David Robins said: "We lost several of our emerging players to gap-year travels and had a tremendous injured list to cope with. "Although our form at Christmas was affected, Ryan and the coaches kept the team on track."
