Devon look set to make their fifth successive county championship final as they host Gloucestershire at the Brickfields on Saturday. The Bill Beaumont Cup holders will win the south group with a perfect record if they beat Gloucestershire. But even if Devon lose, they will still go through to the final provided Gloucestershire or Somerset do not win by more than 22 points. Devon beat Middlesex 34-20 at Staines last week to stay top of the table. 'Rise to challenge' Gloucestershire coach Mike Rafter said the game would be especially tough at it was being played at the Brickfields. "It's the second year running that we will be playing Devon in Devon and travelling away certainly makes the challenge a lot harder especially as the game is at Plymouth Albion, where most of their side play league rugby," he said. "We will have to rise to the challenge though, we know what we have got to do," he added. If Devon make it to the final they are likely to face the winners of the Lancashire and Yorkshire match in the northern section.
