Haughton has scored 11 tries this season

Saracens wing Richard Haughton has signed a new two-year contract with the Premiership side.

The 27-year-old has scored 11 tries this season and recently claimed his club's player of the season award.

Haughton, who came through the academy ranks, is in his 10th year at Saracens and is now hoping for an England call.

"I'll be watching for the squads and keeping my fingers crossed. Everyone wants to play for their country and I'm no different," Haughton said.

Haughton has spent much of his career balancing his Premiership duties against commitments with England on the World Sevens circuit but he is yet to feature at the highest level.

Haughton added: "We've shown in the past two seasons by making the semi-finals of four competitions that we can compete with the best, although there is still some work to do in terms of our consistency.

"We've got some new players joining the club in the summer and also a change in the coaching structure - it's a good time to be part of the club as we look to continue our development."
