Esher back row Mark Soden believes they have "nothing to lose" as they face National One leaders Northampton. Former Saint Soden told BBC Southern Counties Radio: "You've got lots of home fans and our side will raise our game given the crowd and opposition."
The game is sold out - even with the Surrey club hiring a temporary stand.
Soden cannot wait to face his old team-mates and said: "The attraction of this game is pitching yourself against some phenomenal players."
Esher lost 74-10 when the two sides met at Franklin's Gardens and shipped 70 points in their last game, a defeat by the Cornish Pirates.
That means coach Mike Schmid has made defending well his obvious priority, saying: "We have lost our shape far too easily. The big thing is controlling the gain line.
"When we have the ball we've to be going forward - when they have it we've got to be stopping them."
