American football star Dhani Jones thanked Blackheath for their hospitality after playing in the National Trophy defeat by Launceston. The Cincinnati Bengals linebacker played for 10 minutes in the 61-15 loss as part of a television documentary.
He said: "For them to allow me to come into the squad and be able to play is phenomenal and I really appreciate it.
"If a rugby player came to the States to try to play football, I'm not sure the same invitation would be extended."

Jones, who had three training sessions before the game, thought his transition was easier than the other way round.
"I think it would be harder for a rugby player to come and play American football.
"Rugby is a game of power and leverage where as football is a game of impact and speed."
