Dragons (8) 11
Try: Black
Pens: Sweeney (2)
Gloucester (3) 13
Try: Delve
Pens: Walker (2)
Cons: Paterson
Gareth Delve's try ensured another last-gasp win for Gloucester in a dead rubber game in the EDF Energy Cup. After Willie Walker and Ceri Sweeney swapped early penalties, Dragons' Adam Black burrowed over from close range for the only try of the first half.
Ben Daly almost added another from Walker's charged-down clearance before Sweeney notched a second penalty.
But at the death, Welshman Delve pushed over and Chris Paterson's conversion sealed the win in difficult conditions.
Dragons coach Paul Turner:
"We just didn't have the key players in key positions to close out the last two minutes. "Given the conditions, it was a magnificent performance - but we have come up short because we have made three glaring errors in the end.
"We have tried to play when Gloucester were about to get on the bus to go
home. We have not played rugby all night and we decided we wanted to play in that last two minutes.
"All the tries tonight have come from kick-and-rush - and coming into the last few minutes, we have won the game. I'm absolutely fuming."
Gloucester coach Dean Ryan:"Given the conditions, we were pleased to win - but the only disappointment is we lost two key players (the injured Marco Bortolami and Andy Hazell)."
