Chabal could face a lengthy ban if found guilty |
France's Sebastien Chabal has been cleared of a charge of dangerous play after a tackle on England's Simon Shaw in Saturday's World Cup semi-final. The lock was cited for a tackle on England's Simon Shaw in Saturday's semi-final defeat for the hosts.
But a disciplinary hearing found Chabal not guilty, meaning the Sale star will be able to play in Friday's World Cup third-place play-off against Argentina.
Chabal replaced Fabien Pelous in the 26th-minute of Saturday's contest.
His challenge on Shaw was spotted by citing commissioner Dennis Wheelahan.
