Prop BJ Botha will play no further part in South Africa's World Cup campaign after damaging knee ligaments in the Springboks' 64-15 win over the USA. The Natal Sharks player will be replaced by the Cheetahs' Jannie Du Plessis, who made his Test debut during this year's Tri-Nations series.
France will be without scrum-half Pierre Mignoni for their quarter-final match against New Zealand in Cardiff.
Mignoni injured his thigh in the hosts' 64-7 win over Georgia on Sunday.
