Tonga captain Nili Latu has been passed fit to play in Friday's crunch game against England in Paris on Friday.

The open-side flanker has been struggling with a hamstring injury but will play in the winner-takes-all clash at the Parc des Princes.

There are three changes to the Tonga team that lost to South Africa.

Flanker Hale T Pole returns on the blind-side, Viliami Vaki moves to lock from the back row and will pack down alongside new face Lisiate Fa'aoso.

Vaki replaces Paino Hehea, who is out of the tournament with a shoulder injury.

Victory for Tonga on Friday would send them into their first World Cup quarter-final, with reigning champions England making an early exit.

"We've already made a big achievement for Tonga to get this far and it's very important for the boys," said Tonga coach Quddus Fielea.

"This is going to be history in the making and I know they'll be throwing everything into this game."

Latu tweaked his hamstring earlier in the week but said there was no way he would miss the game.

"It's the biggest game in our history," he said. "We've a great chance of getting into the quarter-finals.

"We don't want to be going home next week. England is a one-off match and the losers won't get another chance to put it right."

The two sides last met in the 1999 World Cup with England romping to a 101-10 victory.
