United States coach Peter Thorburn has bemoaned the lack of high-standard warm-up games for his side ahead of their World Cup opener against England. Thorburn named a 30-man squad including Leeds prop Mike MacDonald and Newport Gwent Dragons back Paul Emerick.
They play Munster - without their Irish internationals - on 26 August.
"More games against stiff opposition would have sharpened us up to a level we have to attain very promptly in France," Thorburn said.
"We'll play two really tough international sides and two very good physical sides at this World Cup. We will remain the underdogs going into it.
"The program we've been allowed to put together by USA Rugby will be as good a preparation as any non-professional team at the World Cup."
The Eagles face England in the Pool A opener in Lens on 8 September, then face Tonga in Montpellier four days later before taking on Samoa and South Africa.
