Scotland captain Jason White relished his return to international rugby as Frank Hadden's team beat Ireland. White returned from a serious knee injury sustained last autumn against Romania to enjoy the 31-21 victory in the World Cup warm-up at Murrayfield.
"It's great to be back," White told BBC Radio Scotland.
"We had probably our best first half for a very long time. Ireland came back into it strongly in the second half, but we finished the game off."
White reserved special praise for Andrew Henderson, who claimed a hat-trick of tries and had some other happy news last week.
"It's great for Andy Henderson," said the captain. "He's become a father and now he's scored a hat-trick, excellent."

White expected Ireland to make a game of it so was not surprised when Scotland came under pressure at times.
"Against a team like Ireland, you're not going to have it all your way for 80 minutes," said White.
"They're a good team, a proud rugby nation and they're always going to come back, but it's great to win, get back to winning ways."
Scrum-half Chris Cusiter had to be helped off in the second half with a foot injury, but Scotland coach Frank Hadden told BBC Sport that it might not be as bad as first thought.
"We're hoping it's not too serious, but you never know," said Hadden.
"He's just going to be icing his foot overnnight."
