Portugal beat Uruguay by a single point to claim the last berth at the rugby World Cup which begins in September. The European side went to the away second-leg in Montevideo defending a 12-5 first-leg win.
Portugal were defeated 18-12 by their hosts but clinched their spot in the finals by one point on aggregate.
The Portuguese will made their debut in the tournament where they will face New Zealand, Scotland, Italy and Romania in Group C.
