Our team of BBC rugby experts have predicted the results of every match in the 2007 RBS Six Nations Championship. All four have picked Ireland to take the Six Nations title, with Jeremy Guscott and Keith Wood forecasting a Grand Slam. Andy Nicol predicts a major shock on the opening weekend. He believes Ireland will win the title ahead of England, France and Wales, while Jonathan Davies tips Ireland to triumph over Wales on points difference. Last year "Woody" came out on top, correctly forecasting 12 of the 15 matches, while Nicol was the only one who tipped Scotland to win at least two matches.
Italy v France England v Scotland Wales v IrelandEngland v Italy Scotland v Wales Ireland v France Scotland v Italy Ireland v England France v Wales Scotland v Ireland Italy v Wales England v France Italy v Ireland France v Scotland Wales v England | | I believe Ireland can win the Grand Slam. They should beat Scotland and Italy but the first game against Wales will be incredibly tough. If they play the rugby they can - pragmatic and sensible - and Wales can't, they should win. The Croke Park factor will also be very interesting. Will it be emotional for Ireland in the right way, or overwhelming? The great thing is, if Italy beat France, say, it would be unexpected but not a huge surprise, and that sums up the beauty of the Six Nations. |

Italy v France England v Scotland Wales v IrelandEngland v Italy Scotland v Wales Ireland v France Scotland v Italy Ireland v England France v Wales Scotland v Ireland Italy v Wales England v France Italy v Ireland France v Scotland Wales v England | | If Ireland play as well as they can, I think the Grand Slam is within their grasp. I've never said that before. In the past they've needed other sides to play badly, but they don't need that now. But they've got a very good chance of winning the Six Nations. France are the main danger but you never really know what they're going to come up with. England have been all over the place, so we've no idea what they'll be like. |

Italy v France England v Scotland Wales v Ireland England v Italy Scotland v Wales Ireland v France Scotland v Italy Ireland v England France v Wales Scotland v Ireland Italy v Wales England v France Italy v Ireland France v Scotland Wales v England | | I've gone for a real shock on the first weekend with Italy to beat France in Rome. Italy have been improving all the time, while France have a knack of starting slowly and under-estimating "smaller" opposition. I've only backed Scotland to win one game at home to Italy, but they may only lose narrowly in the others. Ireland will win the title but not the Grand Slam; Italy will take the Wooden Spoon on points from Scotland. |
| VERDICT: IRELAND - BUT NO GRAND SLAM | | | P | W | D | L | Pts | | Ireland | 5 | 4 | 0 | 1 | 8 | | England | 5 | 3 | 0 | 2 | 6 | | France | 5 | 3 | 0 | 2 | 6 | | Wales | 5 | 3 | 0 | 2 | 6 | | Scotland | 5 | 1 | 0 | 4 | 2 | | Italy | 5 | 1 | 0 | 4 | 2 | |

Italy v France England v Scotland Wales v Ireland England v Italy Scotland v Wales Ireland v France Scotland v Italy Ireland v England France v Wales Scotland v Ireland Italy v Wales England v France Italy v Ireland France v Scotland Wales v England | | I can see Ireland winning this Six Nations but I don't think it will be a Grand Slam. I reckon they will lose the crucial opener with Wales in Cardiff, but they'll win their other four games. Wales will probably lose in France and also end on four wins, but Ireland should take the title on points difference. England and France will have to make do with three wins apiece, and unfortunately I can't see Italy winning any games again. |
| VERDICT: IRELAND ON POINTS DIFFERENCE FROM WALES | | | P | W | D | L | Pts | | Ireland | 5 | 4 | 0 | 1 | 8 | | Wales | 5 | 4 | 0 | 1 | 8 | | England | 5 | 3 | 0 | 2 | 6 | | France | 5 | 3 | 0 | 2 | 6 | | Scotland | 5 | 1 | 0 | 4 | 2 | | Italy | 5 | 0 | 0 | 5 | 0 | |
