Wasps win in Castres secured them a home quarter-final

The Wasps boss said they face some "tasty" pool games against Munster, Llanelli Scarlets and Clermont.

"To qualify, we will need to perform on the road as well as at home," he said.

"I think we came of age when we won in Castres last season to qualify for the quarters, and that helped us a lot in the knockout stages."

If Wasps are to retain their title they will have to get past 2006 champions Munster, last year's semi-finalists the Scarlets and French championship runners-up Clermont, just to escape the pool stages.

"We have certainly been drawn in a very competitive group, which promises some tasty games and big challenges for us in the pool stages," said McGeechan.

Bristol's reward for finishing third in the Premiership last season is to be drawn in Pool Three against French champions Stade Francais, Cardiff and Harlequins.

"We're not expecting to win the tournament this year. What we wanted was a group where we could get a couple of wins and put in a creditable performance," said boss Richard Hill.

"We've spent the past two seasons establishing ourselves in the Premiership and now we want to spend the next few years doing likewise in the Heineken Cup so that we can compete with the Leicesters and Wasps of this world."
