Connolly says the Wallabies still have work to do |
Coach John Connolly said Australia's European tour had been a positive experience after they signed off with a 44-15 victory over Scotland. The Wallabies had previously drawn with Wales, lost to Ireland and notched a narrow win over Italy in Rome.
But Connolly insisted: "We won't take any negatives out of this tour.
"I'm pleased with where we're at ahead of next year's World Cup. We have work to do like everyone else, but we have seen some improvements."
Connolly admitted to concern when Scotland took a 10-0 lead in the final international of the autumn at Murrayfield.
"It's always a concern when you give a side the jump on you, and especially Scotland here because they've got a great record at home this year.
"But I'm very happy for the players and the way they turned it round.
"We're looking at the season as a whole and while we would have liked to win every game we didn't.
"But we were very close to beating the All Blacks twice (in the Tri Nations) and then we came on this tour with 37 players and have put 28 through the Test team.
"We have made an effort to broaden the team and you could see that by the youthful ages of the front row today."
